Trisha's plea to the Mayor

TrishaTrisha’s plea to the Mayor

Star Trisha is known for her love for animals and has been a long-time ally of PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals). She has never hidden her disapproval of ill-treatment of pets.

Now, Trisha has shot off a letter to the Chennai Mayor, Saidai S Duraisamy, urging him to drop plans to catch around 30,000 dogs and limit them to pounds.

“I fairly urge you to scrap the plan to round up as many as 30,000 dogs from the streets and imprison them in 15 new pounds in Chennai. Warehousing dogs, even if they are sick or old, for the rest of their lives is very cruel,” said Trisha in the letter.

Trisha said she was for a humane manner of handling the issue and urged the civic experts to focus on animal birth control and anti-rabies program.

The actress Trisha is busy with a number of projects including Jayam Ravi’s ‘Boologam’, Jiiva-starrer ‘Endrendrum Punnagai’, and bilingual ‘RUM’ among others. She hasn’t been seen much on the silver screen since her last movie ‘Samar’ which released for Pongal event.
