Oscar winning actress Marisa Tomei has joined the cast of overseer Ira Sachs’ indie film “Love is Strange,” which is to start shooting this month in New York.


Marisa Tomei will co-star with the in the past announced John Lithgow and Alfred Molina in the movie about a not long ago married gay couple’s forced break up.


“Marisa Tomei brings an brains, warmth, and stylish humor to every thing she does,” Sachs said in a report Wednesday. “From our first meeting, it was clear that in her hands, the role of Kate would speak out loud deeply with audiences. Marisa Tomei raises all of us involved to be at our very best.”


The figure of Kate is described as “a writer married to Lithgow’s nephew, who lets his uncle move in with them after he’s forced to sell his small flat.”


Marisa Tomei’s film credits include “Parental Guidance,” “The Ides of March,” “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” “The Wrestler,” “In the Bedroom,” “My Cousin Vinny” and “Untamed Heart.”
